Itinerary

Margaret River and Southwest WA Photo Tour (3-Day Tour)

Escape the busy touristic tracks and take a once in a lifetime photography road trip down Western Australia’s Southwest. Explore Busselton iconic old jetty, Cape Naturalist National Park, Bunker Bay, Sugarloaf, Canal Rock, Geographe Bay and the picturesque Margaret Rive Wine Region!

Our 4 (up to 7-day) tour options are available on demand, and can be tailored to include some of the most remote and untouched places in Western Australia’s Southwest; Augusta, Pemberton, Karri Forrest, Valley of the Giant, Tree Top Walk, Walpole, Denmark, Elephant Cove, Albany and the magnificent Stirling Range National Park.

 

Day One

Perth direction south on to the Old Coast Road, Lake Clifton, Bunbury, Busselton with our first stop for introductions and coffee in Mandurah, then onwards to Lake Clifton one of 5 site in Western Australia where you can observe the ancient Thrombolites. Lunch in Bunbury and early afternoon check-in into our Margaret River accommodation. Sunset session at Peverley – Margaret River Beach, then dinner and weather permitting our first nightscape astrophotography session/ workshop.

 

Day Two

Early start to catch the sunrise at the Old Busselton Jetty followed by breakfast at The Good Egg. After lunch we are off to Bunker Bay, Yallingup, Yallingup Beach, Canal Rock and onto Caves Road to Margaret River. We’ll enjoy lunch a one of the iconic Margaret River wineries and do some Margaret River wine tasting.

In the afternoon we’ll explore the region surrounding of Margaret River famous surf beach before heading back to our accommodation for a well-deserved rest. Sunset location TBC

 

Day Three

Sunrise session at Canal Rock – mini workshop on water long exposure, ND filters, etc. Breakfast then we checkout Smith Beach, Wyadup Natural Spa.

In the afternoon we’ll drive down to Hamlin Bay where rays like to be sunbathing near the shore and with a bit of luck spot a few whales hanging out during the migration season from the picturesque Cape Leeuwin peninsula historic lighthouse, where the Indian Ocean and the Southern Ocean meet. Day Four

Optional Sunrise session, breakfast at the White Elephant (MR beach)

After breakfast we pack start the drive back to Perth via the Old Southwest Hwy. Lunch in Harvey at the historical Stirling Cottage, nestled on the edge of the Harvey River, surrounded by beautiful, picturesque gardens.
