Day One

Perth to Geraldton via the Pinnacles Desert. Early start from Perth to beat the traffic and catch the morning light over Nambung National Park. This morning we'll take the time to explore the Pinnacles Desert and enjoy a delicious meal at the Lobster Shack for lunch. Transit to Geraldton via the Indian Ocean road after lunch. Overnight stay in Geraldton. Hotel/ Motel style accommodation.

Day Two

Transit to Carnarvon. Sunset session in Carnarvon, Night photography and light painting session at Carnarvon historic space station. The Carnarvon tracking Station played a major part in the Gemini program. After the conclusion of the Gemini program, the Tracking Station provided extensive support for the project Apollo missions to the Moon. Because of Carnarvon's unique geographical position, it was used to uplink the trans-lunar injection command to the Apollo spacecraft and was the prime link for the last hours of re-entry to Earth.

Day Three

Transit to Exmouth. Time permitting, we'll make the detour to Coral Bay on either the way up or on our way down from Exmouth on day-5. If it is not too busy, we'll attempt a sunset and nightscape photography session at Vlaming Head Lighthouse at the point of the cape in Exmouth. The Sunset is absolutely spectacular from there, and it provide the perfect anchor point for astrophotography.

Day Four

Early morning sunrise opportunity before setting up mid morning at a chosen location to capture the Solar Eclipse. Free time after the eclipse to explore Ningaloo Reef and take a drive up Charles Knife Canyon on time for sunset.

Day Five

After checkout we’ll make the short drive back to Coral Bay and time permitting take the opportunity to go on a Ningaloo Reef Eco Tour or go for a swim and an early lunch before heading back onto the North West Coast Hwy

We’ll make a quick break in Carnarvon to refuel and do some grocery shopping before heading down the coast and setting up camp in Wooramel Station for the night. Wooramel is a photographer's delight if you enjoy bird watching and photographing old cars. Night photography session.
